IMMEDIATE OPENING - Seeking Temporary Bilingual Office Assistant – LIMITED DURATION

Immigration Counseling Service (ICS) provides affordable immigration legal services and free informational forums in the Portland and Hood River areas.
 
JOB TITLE:  Temporary Bilingual Office Assistant – LIMITED DURATION
 
JOB PURPOSE:  The Temporary Office Assistant provides support services to ICS legal support staff.  
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES
 
Primary Responsibilities and Duties: 
 
·         Responsible for performing filing, scanning and shredding
·         Responsible for retrieving voice mails
·         Responsible for performing data entry
 
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties
 
·         Perform other duties as requested by legal support staff
·         Occasional legal document translations (Spanish-English)
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Minimum:
 
·         One year basic office experience
·         Ability to multitask
·         Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and collaborative approach
 
Desired: 
 
·         Experience working at a non profit organization
·         Experience with multicultural, underserved and underrepresented communities
·         Experience translating documents
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
SKILLS
 
Minimum: 
 
·         Advanced proficiency in Spanish and English with good communication skills in both languages
·         Basic data entry skills  
·         Basic computer skills (Word processing, email)
·         Ability to write using proper grammar and spelling in English and Spanish
·         Excellent attention to detail
·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
 
The position may require occasional driving of a motor vehicle, which requires a valid Oregon driver’s license. 
 
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 
May spend up to 7 hours per day using a computer (sit or stand), including keyboard and mouse, and using telephone; occasional lifting boxes of files or packages weighing up to 25 pounds.
 
This is a NON-EXEMPT Position
