ICS Response to COVID-19
Friends,We know that COVID-19 is on everyone’s minds right now so wanted to let you know what measures we are taking at ICS to keep clients, staff and interns safe. Effective today, we are closing our physical offices in Portland and Hood River and moving to a virtual office operation through March 31. Essential appointments will be kept telephonically or via video conferencing. All other appointments will be rescheduled for a later date. Our utmost concern is the safety and wellbeing of the individuals and families we work with. We are acutely aware of the added stressors on immigrant families who have to manage school closures, missed work days, loss of pay, potentially losing their jobs, and fear of family members becoming ill. We want to assure the community that our legal team remains accessible by phone to provide legal advice. Because of language barriers and fear of seeking healthcare due to their immigration status, we are also fielding calls about how to respond to the virus. We are providing support and info where and when we can.ICS will continue to explore how best to serve our clients during this time. We will send you updates of any additional changes in our office hours or service delivery. For the latest information regarding the virus and how our community is responding, please visit the Multnomah Health Department website and the OHA website. As always, thank you for your support of ICS, especially in these challenging times.Stay well and take care!Frank GarciaExecutive Director
