This year, ICS set out to raise $60,000 through Willamette Week’s Give!Guide campaign to defend the rights of our immigrant and refugee neighbors. We’ve received an outpouring of support that we are so thankful for, with 526 of you donating $82,652 to support this important cause.

Thank you for sending a loud message to anyone who pushes an anti-immigrant agenda: In Oregon, we believe in treating our immigrant and refugee neighbors with dignity, humanity, and respect.

We know that the work ahead will be harder—and more necessary. Nearly 50 years ago, ICS was founded to defend fundamental human rights at a time when global refugee crises spurred anti-immigrant reforms in the United States. ICS was founded to ensure immigrant and refugee communities would have legal protections, defense, and resources during a turbulent time. We do this same work today, and we will do this same work tomorrow.

Since the election, we have been hard at work to secure a safer and better future for immigrants and for Oregon as a whole:

·       We have equipped our communities with resources to protect themselves and their loved ones by sharing vital Know Your Rights resources with 12,000+ people across Oregon and southwest Washington.

·       We are helping our clients apply for documentation and protect them from deportation, by opening 200+ new legal cases and consultations since the election.

·       We are defending the rights of 120 unaccompanied children and their family members through legal representation, education, and reunification support.

·       We hosted a statewide townhall and are working to implement a pathway to citizenship for the immigrants and refugees who make our economy strong and our communities vibrant
