Words Matter.

I know I am not alone in feeling the weight of racist and xenophobic words that have been said about immigrants. These words have become common place in our country’s political rhetoric.

And despite their sensationalism, despite their proven falsehoods, these words have a very real impact on the daily lives of immigrants – whether at the border, in Ohio, or here in Oregon.

Time and time again, we’ve seen these anti-immigrant tropes fuel dehumanization and put entire communities in danger. It can feel overwhelming when we fear for ourselves, our families, our friends, and our neighbors who are immigrants.

But the answer is not to give up or ignore these words. We must use our voices and our power to protect immigrants. Become a justice defender and support ICS today. Leave a comment with your gift on why you support immigrants, and your voice can help us overcome this divisiveness.

With your support, ICS will take immediate action to ensure more immigrants have legal footing today. We will launch additional legal clinics to help our clients renew their residency cards and work toward citizenship. Each gift of $50 will make this possible for one additional client in need of support.

Thank you for defending justice with us.

Mil Gracias,
Frank Garcia
