Announcement about TPS for El Salvador

The government announced that it is ending Temporary Protected Status for people from El Salvador in September 2019. Salvadorans with TPS have lived in the United States since before February 2001 but are faced with losing their permission to live and work here after September of next year. Currently the government is not accepting applications to extend work permits. We expect an announcement in the next few months about when to apply. Stay up-to-date on the news and talk to an attorney when there is an update on the time to sign up. For those who have TPS, we recommend a consultation with an immigration attorney to talk about your options, even if you don’t plan to apply for TPS.Related news: "Trump Administration Says That Nearly 200,000 Salvadorans Must Leave"
